New Mexico to Chicago, via St. Louis and Italy. A company member of Strange Tree Group, I have also performed with Signal Ensemble Theatre, The Ruckus, Right Brain Project, Raven, the side project, Talisman, Trap Door, Velvet Willies, and many others. I cofounded the playwriting collective Sansculottes (R.I.P.) with Terry Selucky and C. Mitchell Turner.
I front Liz and the Baguettes and perform as a solo musician, mostly on guitar and vocals, with occasional banjo, ukulele, violin, drums, piano, or whatever else is called for. I also play guitar with The Loudness War and bass with The Unswept.
I studied literature and film at Washington University in St. Louis. Other training includes physical theater at the Accademia dell'Arte in Arezzo, Italy; clown with 500 Clown; the Actors' Intensive Retreat Experience with Greenwood Studio in Washington; music theory and composition at Old Town School of Folk Music; voice lessons and scene study classes with several great Chicago teachers; and continuing classes in circus arts at the Actor's Gymnasium and dance at Joel Hall Dance Center.
Shockingly—shockingly!—storefront theater, geeky folk-rock, and literary fiction fail to pay the bills, so I also freelance as a writer, editor, and book coach. If you're looking for info on those endeavors, you want Bagby Copy.
